Generic 6-OXO

Generic 3,6,17-Androstenetrione (the main ingredient in 6-OXO, is still being sold altough 6-OXO has been discontinued.

6-OXO has been discontinued

You may still be able to find generic 4-Androstene-3,6,17-trione online. A quick look on Amazon reveals a product simply called 3,6,17-Androstenetrione(how’s that for truth in marketing). There’s also CEL P.C.T. Assist and Redefine Nutrition Pct Revolution, but I can’t vouch for the ingredients of either of the last two so do your homework.

Background

I am very rarely impressed by the credentials and/or effects of a commercially available supplement. However, 6-OXO is one of those few products that made my list. Not only was I able to find a published study that demonstrated the main chemical is 6-OXO was able to significantly increase the amount of free testosterone and reduce the amount of a certain estrogen in the body, but when I tried it, I actually noticed a significant difference. Though it is marketed as an estrogen reducer, it is actually far more effective as a testosterone booster.

I will explain the chemistry behind the claims later in this article. And the best part is that it contains no synthetic testosterone or testosterone prohormones, so your body doesn’t shut down its own testosterone production (i.e. testicular shrinkage). On the contrary, it actually works to boost your bodies natural production of testosterone! Let’s get into the nuts and bolts to figure out how it works.

The main component of 6-OXO is called 4-Etioallocholen-3,6,17-Trione. This is standard nomenclature for this chemical, but it is also known as 4-Androstene-3,6,17-trione. This chemical is what is known as an aromatase inhibitor. But what does any of this mean?

What is Aromatase?

Aromatase is an enzyme that converts androgens (namely testosterone) into estrogen. 4-Androstene-3,6,17-trione inhibits this enzyme and prevents the conversion of testosterone in to estrogen. By doing this, testosterone levels are raised (because less testosterone is broken down) and estrogen levels are lowered (because less extra testosterone is converted to estrogen). This is the reasons many steroid users turn to 6-OXO during and after cycles. Excess testosterone is normally converted to estrogen and leads to the telltale signs of steroid abuse (breast tissue formation, elevated body fat, etc). By using this compound, the excess testosterone is unable to be converted, and thus does not contribute to these side effects.

There are many ways that we can get extra protein throughout the day. But having a protein shake isn’t always feasible. They’re not very portable, and tend to get rather messy. MRB’s (Meal Replacement Bars) offer a good alternative, but they’re often bundled with high carb or high fat food products to make them palatable. So for those of us who aren’t hardcore enough (a.k.a. crazy enough) to carry around a can of tuna fish with us, some smart folks developed protein chews.

There are a few chewable protein products out there and we want to let you know about a few of our favorites. Everyone has different needs and tastes, so we’ll try to rank them objectively on the categories of price, protein amount, and flavor choices. So without further ado, here is our break down. The winner of each category is highlighted, you can decide for yourself which is the overall winner.

Img Product Name Protein per serving Price
($ / g)
Flavors
Xtreme Amino Xtreme Amino 4.5 g $0.04 per gram Banana
Chocolate

PB & Whey Protein Bites 10. g $0.13 per gram Peanut Butter

Amino 1500 Amino 1500

These products are not typically found on the grocery store shelves and buying them at a supplement store will definitely cost you, so I strongly recommend buying them online. The links will lead you to cheap places to buy each of them.

Do you want to make some green juice but don’t have a juicer? Are you unsure if green juice is for you and want to try it out before you invest in a juicer? Do you hate wasting money and want to make green juice as inexpensively as possible? If so, this article is for you! Here’s how to make green juice as cheaply as possible and without a juicer.

What you need

-blender
-pitcher
-knife & cutting board
-2 Ball jars
-paint strainer bag (or milk nut bag if you’re fancy)
-big bowl (not necessary, but helpful)

Gather your plants

This is just one example, but it’s a pretty good starting point and definetely my go-to “mean green” green juice. This will make 2 Ball jars worth of juice, so cut the proportions in half if you want just 1 serving:

-1 cucumber
-4 celery stalks
-1/2 a lemon
-2 green apples
-6 kale leaves

Green juicing is a great way to get the beneficial nutrients, vitamins, and phytochemicals found in fruits and vegetables without having to choke down a pound of plant matter everyday. Green juice can improve overall health, prolong life, increase performance, and promote fat loss. Many bodybuilders and athletes are vigilant about calorie and protein intake, but often neglect to get eat enough fruits and vegetables. Green juice adds a huge nutritional punch even to the cleanest diets, and it does so with the least amount of added calories.

Looking to gain muscle?
If you’re on a bulking diet, chances are you just don’t have stomach room for 5 servings of vegetables. Adding a daily glass of green juice to a high protein, calorie surplus diet will allow you to get the micronutrients and unique chemicals found in vegetables. It will increase energy levels and help keep your insides healthy.

Looking to lose fat?
Replacing even one meal with a glass of green juice will dramatically decrease your caloric intake. The awesome part is that because green juice has all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs, it can serve as a sole source of nutrition. During a “juice cleanse” you can drink nothing but green juice and watch the fat melt away.

Follow our step by step article (with pictures!) to learn how to make green juice yourself (without a blender).

Epsom Salts

Epsom Salt has several benefits for Bodybuilders and competitive athletes that often go over looked. Epsom salts are known for their relaxing properties and muscle soothing abilities, but they even greater potential for removing water from under the skin, to increase definition and reduce water weight, as well as removing toxins and calming the central nervous system.

What are Epsom Salts?
Epsom Salt is simply magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) in a heptahydrate form (hepta = 7, hydrate = H20). They are widely used to sooth and hasten healing of cuts, scrapes, bruises and sore muscles when used as a soaking agent in a bath. Though this salt has many other uses in agriculture, medical, and chemical arenas, we will be focusing on how it can help bodybuilders.

What does Epsom Salt do?
Epsom Salt has a high affinity for water, that is, it seeks and binds easily with water. For this reason it has excellent drying properties. This salt is used to draw out water from the body. Athletes who want to lose water weight without dehydrating themselves, often soak in Epsom Salt baths. The water is drawn out of the skin and subcutaneous layer, but remains in the organs and muscles. This not only allows you to lose significant weight before a weigh in, but allows your body to function just as well.

Epsom Salt is used by bodybuilders, often before competitions, to draw out the water than resides between the skin and muscles, in order to increase apparent muscle definition and give what has become known as that “dry” look. But besides its cosmetic appeal, Epsom Salts also are of great use to bodybuilders who know better than anyone the pain of sore or tight muscles. An Epsom Salt bath is a great remedy for this discomfort, providing lasting relief from a strenuous workout.

Container of epsom saltHow are Epsom Salts used?
The most common way they are used is as a bath soak. Usually, two or three cups of the Salt in a hot bath is enough to do the trick. There are various other preparations, but a bath soak is the easiest and most common method. The hot water helps to dissolve the salt quickly and opens the pores of the skin to allow more water to be drawn out. Because Epsom Salt has such a profound drying effect, it is also quite good at reducing swelling due to a bruise or joint injury. If you’ve ever dropped a plate on your foot, you know that bumps and bruises are bound to happen in the weight room.

If you’re looking for a more natural way to soothe your muscles and get that extra muscle definition, you might want to pick up some Epsom Salts and give it a try. Many preparations have scents or oils added, and while you might like that, I prefer not to smell like patchouli all day. I buy pure Epsom online, as it’s hard to find pure Epsom Salt in most stores. I get the 4 pound bag because it’s cheaper, but if you just want to sample it, they also have a 16 ounce package which is a good trial amount. Epsom Salt is really quite cheap especially compared to an hour at the massage therapist.

Gain Muscle and Lose Fat

Trying to lose weight (fat) or gain weight (muscle) can be one of the most frustrating things you will ever do. This is a huge industry in America, and it preys on people who are misinformed and misled. They shove fad diets and magic pills down our throats until we actually believe it’s the only way to change our bodies. The saddest thing, for me, is a person who has the dedication, drive, and will to lose weight; but fails because he/she doesn’t have the right information.

Gaining muscle or losing fat comes down to one simple concept… math. If you can do simple addition and subtraction and have the patience to keep good records of what you eat, you can lose as much weight as you want. I know you might not believe me, but just hear me out. The diet pill and weight loss companies want you to think changing your body is impossibly difficult, but it really is very easy (at least the principle is).

Changing your body

There are only two ways in which a person can change their body: (1) gain/lose muscle & (2) gain/lose fat. That’s it. There is no such thing as toning, sculpting, etc. These are industry buzz words. Most everyone’s goal, both men and women, is to gain muscle and lose fat. Now this is the point which most women interject, “But I don’t want to look like a bodybuilder” or “I don’t want to be bulky”. Sigh. There are two reasons why this is silly. First, women have 1/15 the testosterone of men. Unless you are shooting steroids into your thigh, you can NEVER look like a bodybuilder. Take a look around the average gym; you’ll see slender guys desperately repping weights to try to get huge. If it’s that hard for them, and it’s 15 times harder for you, I doubt you’re ever going to look like a monster. Secondly, muscle is what looks attractive. Six pack abs? “Toned” arms? Defined legs? A shapely butt? These are all the results of having muscle tissue and low fat. But this is a nutritional article, so I digress.

Balance the books

Weight loss/gain comes down to a simple principle: calories consumed vs. calories used. If you eat more than you burn in a day, you gain weight. If you eat less than you burn in a day, you lose weight. That’s it. The hardest part is figuring out these numbers and then tailoring your lifestyle to them. Try this. First thing in the morning, weigh yourself and write it down. Record the amount and type of food you eat all day and any exercise you don’t do on a daily basis. You can use any number of calorie calculators on the internet and figure out the number of calories you consumed and subtract the calories you burned. If at the end of the week you weigh less, you’ve found your calorie limit. Continue to eat that amount of calories and you will continue to lose weight. If your weight goes up, you need to cut back the amount of calories you eat. Simple to understand, but takes a lot of will to practice.

What to eat?

If you want to build muscle, you need to eat protein. If you don’t know how much protein you should be eating, check out our article on protein consumption. You should balance the remainder of your calories between healthy fats and clean carbohydrates. If you stick to this system it is impossible to fail. Now you know how to do it, the hard part is yet to come. Discipline becomes a lifestyle and before you know it, you’ll have the body of your dreams.

Lawsuit Filed On M-Drol

M Drol is an anabolic steroid sold as a sports supplement. It contains the ingredient made popular by Superdrol, called methasteron. This ingredient was sold to the public as the very safest legal hormone available, but further scrutiny and a list of pub med entries have shown this to be liver stressing in people who are susceptible to such things. Men who drink excessively, use drugs or alcohol should avoid M Drol and all products containing methasteron/superdrol.

Lawyers filed M Drol lawsuits on November 17 for Jesse Woods and Heath Stevison in Galveston County District Court in Texas against Competitive Edge Labs, maker of M Drol. The suit alleges that the products are defective and caused hospitalizations for both men.

Both men were hospitalized with signs of liver toxicity, allegedly after taking M-Drol. It is unknown the prior history or habits of either men, but it shows that these supplements can be dangerous if taken incorrectly or in men who have a preexisting condition. Despite thousands of bottles of M Drol and potentially millions of bottles of methasterone being sold, it is still possible that liver stress can be an issue with these supplements. M-Drol is the generic name for the anabolic steroid Superdrol, which is a synthetic illegal substance that will show up on numerous drug tests and also could have the potential to do major bodily harm to people who don’t use it properly. Superdrol is characterized by the nomenclature 2a,17a di methyl etiocholan 3-one, 17b-ol which also appears on the M-Drol label.  M-Drol is a straight copy of the original Superdrol product from Anabolic Xtreme.

Superdrol (also M-Drol) might sound like an easy way to gain fast muscle, but it is low quality muscle weight that you will lose.  Many guys experience the effect of gaining 20lbs of muscle only to lose 15lbs of it 2 weeks after stopping superdrol and M-Drol.  This is a horrible thing to do, since you will certainly want to just jump back on M-Drol and that’s where the problems lie.

M-Drol Reviews:
Make no mistake, M-Drol is an anabolic steroid, so the M-Drol reviews are going to be favorable in terms of gaining muscle. Almost no one reports the bad side effects in their M-Drol reviews. The bad side effects are usually after the cycle has completed.

M-Drol Side Effects:
You might find your friends and relatives looking at you funny.  Everyone knows you are doing anabolic steroids (M-Drol is an anabolic steroid, not a prohormone) when you gain 20lbs in 3 weeks and then lose 15lbs 2 weeks later. View the entire article.

Does Creatine Make Your Penis Bigger?

In terms of sports nutrition, the question – ‘Does Creatine Make Your Penis Bigger?’ is a regular and popular search term according to the definitive site on Creatine Effects and Side Effects – Creatineffects.net

So what’s the answer to this universal male question?

The SHORT answer is yes and no.  It really depends on your age and your growth plates. In young people both your penis and your height are dependent on a hormone called DHT.  This hormone is a metabolite of testosterone that is one factor in penis length and overall height. In fact it was found that afro-american men have more of this hormone than caucasian men, even though their testosterone levels are the same.

DHT can indeed make your penis larger for life if you take it prior to your growth spurt phase.  Some males will stop growing at 18 while others will continue to grow until their early 20′s.  You never know if your growth plates are closed so there is no way to tell whether creatine will make your penis larger…

So can products like Creatine, NO Xplode, and Jacked3D  actually increase penis size in the short term? Possibly. For further discussion, check out the creatineeffects.net blog.
