How to use Lifting Straps

The purpose of weight lifting straps is to allow you to grip heavier weights than you would normally be able to during intense lifts (like deadlifts or shrugs). If you're grip is limiting how much weight you can hold during these exercises, you should pick yourself up a pair of these babies.

How to use lifting straps.
(1) Slip your hand through the hole so the flap points in the same direction as your fingers (and not back towards your elbow).
(2) Curl the strap from under the bar and wrap it. Press the strap between the bar and your hand to hold it in place.
(3) Roll the bar back towards you until the strap pulls tight on your wrist.

That’s it. Your grip has just been hugely increased so now you can really lift to your full potential. Lifting straps can run anywhere from five to a hundred bucks, so there is sure to be one that fits your budget and preferences. I’ve included a hand full of lifting straps that run the gambit of quality and price.
